Instructors at Extra Innings

Extra Innings offers individualized, year round professional baseball and softball instruction. Our staff uses a uniform step-by-step teaching system to encourage positive progress with all our students.

The Extra Innings staff features former and current professional players, college all-stars, and area college and high school coaches.

Donald Wright – Baseball Instructor

Coach Donald attended San Jacinto College where he was a member of two national championship teams in 1986 and 1987 under the instruction of Coach Wayne Graham, currently the Head Coach for Rice University. Donald received many individual awards those years. He was two-time 1st Team All Conference as well as a member of the NJCAA World Series tournament 1st team both years. After leaving San Jacinto College, Donald played with the Kansas City Royals from 1987-1990. In 2001, he attended MLB Scout School in Phoenix, Arizona where he received his certification as a professional scout. Coach Donald teaches hitting, fielding, pitching and base running.

 

Aaron Taylor

Coach Aaron played baseball at Texas State University where he was an All-Conference closer his freshman year. While on the team, he appeared in the Junior College World Series and they were Conference champs in 2009. Coach Aaron teaches pitching to any age and hitting/fielding to younger players.

 

Mike Tellez – Baseball Instructor

Coach Mike played baseball at the University of Houston-Victoria where he played under the coaching of Terry Puhl and Phil Garner. He also played at Lone Star College where he played catcher and first base. While on the team at Lone Star, he received second team All-District for hitting with a .394 batting average. Coach Mike teaches hitting, fielding and catching.

 

Geoff Potter – Baseball Instructor

Coach Geoff is from Indianapolis, Indiana, where he played high school ball at Arlington High School. While there, he was a 4-year starter. His senior year his record as a pitcher was 13 - 2 and he broke a record with 162 strikeouts. He followed up his baseball career at Marian University in Indiana, where he started all four years and was an All Conference Pitcher. Coach Geoff is left handed, energetic and enjoys teaching children how to pitch. Coach Geoff teaches pitching and fielding.

 
Paul Escobedo

Paul Escobedo – Softball Instructor

Coach Paul is a high school certified coach who has spent that past ten years coaching young ladies of all ages and all levels of play. His goal is to enhance the capabilities of young athletes and help them get to the next level of the game including college and beyond. Coach Paul teaches pitching, hitting, fielding and catching.
